It was an evening of moments when Irish rockers The Script opened their national tour No Sound Without Silence at a packed Perth Arena on Friday night.

As the house lights dimmed, a line of neon green fluorescents begun to rally from the rear entry, thereby entered three piece rockers The Script. Triumphantly marching diagonally through the mosh pit they made their way to the stage where lead singer Danny O’Donaghue rose his fist to declare the fight had begun and opened with song Paint The Town Green.

What a pretty boy! Dark hair, lean arms, black skinnies, a long black T, a voice that sends shivers down the spine and did we mention that swank Irish accent. Danny O’Donoghue is a multi-talented, sex symbol that can write some perfect melodies.

Radio hits Break Even and Superheroes helped get the party started as the crowd warmed.

We’ve all drunk dialled our ex, right? But have you ever dreamt of having thousands of strangers and a famous singer call your ex to remind them of how much of an asshole they are?

Well some lucky dame was fortunate to have Danny call her ex ‘Ben’ on stage. As Ben answers the call Danny introduces himself and says “'Your ex-girlfriend wants me to sing a song to you, everyone say hello!”

Ben was a trooper who stayed on the line for the entire break-up song, Nothing and is hung up on after the thousands of punters yelled “Goodbye asshole.”

Mark Sheehan (guitarist) is a show pony (a likeable character) and

Glen Power (drums) is the silent type but without them this trio would be at a loss.

Getting reminiscent in an acoustic set, the act spoke of their years as struggling artists, sleeping on each other’s couches and that song that changed it all, putting clothes on their backs, The Man Who Can’t Be Moved.

The love of their fans was evident as brave Danny treated those in the upper level seats, as he walked from one side of the arena to the other. Stopping for selfies, hugs, high-fives and holding a go-pro so all could see from the big screen.

The Irish community in Perth seemed had come out in full with a strong Irish accent heard in the line at the bar & all around you in the Arena. A sticker of the Irish flag was even seen on the lead singers microphone.

Many more hits were played including Man on A Wire & For The First Time but the momentous two-hour show came to a close on Hall Of Fame and some excellent confetti bombs.

There was a real connection between these rockers & their fans, moments to laugh, relate & sing-along.
